9th post
Daniel is currently working on a comic book called The Tenth Circle, based on Dante’s Inferno, which his wife has always been interested in. Dante’s Inferno describes the nine levels of Hell, and similarly, Daniel’s comic shows his main character, Duncan, traversing those nine circles of Hell in order to rescue his daughter (Trixie). When afraid or in danger, Duncan will turn into some kind of animal, in order to escape or defend himself. He has no control over this, and he knows that each time it happens he becomes a little less human. His one fear, like Daniel’s, is that he will become someone his daughter will no longer recognize. The theme of what Dante considers to be a sin is also something that is focused on in the plot. The first circle of hell, according to Dante, is reserved for those who did not believe in or worship their god. There are 9 levels in total. These nine levels of Hell seem a bit ridiculous to me. I’ll read and find out more about them though! I guess drawing comic books can be a good way to vent about your problems.

That book sounds interesting. It seems that a lot happens and that the book is full of many different emotions. Thanks for a good book suggestion.
You are very correct in your train of thought Katie, drawing stuff like comic books is a good way to vent! And since comics require writing, if there's something you wish to vent about but you don't know how to picture it, it can always be written out. But I digress!
It's beautiful that Duncan would be willing to slowly become less human bit by bit to save his daughter, but the fear of Trixie not being able to recognize him just seems so... Tragic. You know? Imagine what kind of pain and self destruction Duncan might have to go through to save his daughter. And what if he reaches his daughter, she no longer recognizes him, or she no longer -wants- to recognize him?
By the way! Be sure to tell me more about these nine levels of hell once you know more, please? I'm already doomed to be in the first level since I'm an agnostic, ahha.
