10th post!!!

I didn’t get to finish my second book, “The tenth Circle”, but that doesn’t matter since my book report is about the first book that I read, “Speak”. I really enjoyed both books, even though they both were about the cruel and hard topic, rape. I feel that it is important for this issue to be put into books to show what a horrible thing it is, and how much it can affect someone’s life. In both books the two girls who were rapped. They both had pretty normal lives, and started off happy and content. After they were raped, there lives went downhill. It is also good to talk about because if someone who was reading this book was raped, then they could relate to it and see how others deal with it. They also could see that they are not alone. In the “Speak” book, the main character who was raped didn’t tell anyone the whole school year, not ever her parents! This is why she had it so hard at school. It is an incredibly hard situation to deal with on your own, especially for only being 15. That is why people need to open up and share their problems when they are in needs of help. This story has taught me many valuable lessons.

This book sounds very sad. I think its sad because someone could be having such a great life until they're rapped and their life will never be the same. I really like these kinds of books that are sad and have a good affect on the reader which is why I think it would be a good fit for me.

although im not exactly a target for rape i do feel that the topic needs to be put out in the open. After all its alot harder to commit a crime if everyone knows how to stop it.

I have also read "Speak" and I agree that you can learn many things from this book. I also enjoyed that it was representing realistic reactions to situations and real high school with an odd humor but was still able to be about such a serious topic.
